This is my town.
In Venice you walk a lot.

An attention that in me was born from an early age when I was carrying my mother’s shoes from the shoemaker and I… stayed there watching him work.

Dark Shop, gruff frown, Tuscan always in the mouth, smell of transparencies, glues that intoxicated… stunned, one of those images and those sensations that are in the mind, in the heart and in the nose!

The time and a series of vicissitudes have taken me away from my city, and to go through various roads ma…il my way brought me back to the shop! This time behind the counter I! Not even thirty, with a beard cured, so much desire to do, to learn, to experiment. With time, changes of residence, jobs etc etc. the “case” wanted me to take that path (it is the case to say it).
For 12 years I was a shoemaker, a shop in a shop, a city in the city, evolving, growing up. Understanding what I liked to do and what not! I managed to get out of the cliché of the “cobbler in Cave”, and always trying to establish, with the people who addressed me, a dialogue, suggesting little things, explaining my work, hearing. Perhaps this is the aspect of my work that I most appreciate. I love talking to customers, I love to devote time to them, I love to listen to their doubts, their perplexities, their curiosities sometimes even their outbursts. I still love to find solutions that can satisfy them fully,

I love to explain with simplicity and completeness what they are wearing, what involves using certain footwear, how it could prevent inconvenience and why a solution could be more suitable. I like to be honest with them, as a friend should be, and I know that this is appreciated by those who do not need falsehoods but dispassionate advice, as I know that at times this spying because you are not accustomed to bluntness, to frankness especially when you have to buy something. I don’t think it’s useful for anyone to lie, a dissatisfied customer is a lost customer, a lost customer is not a customer!

My goal is not to spend money, my goal is to make people feel good, to turn to me satisfied with what he bought or what he did not buy!

These are the reasons why I have made my passions and have, to some extent, invented a profession (in Europe we are in 2).

I am not a buyer, I am not a personal shopper in the strict sense of the term, I come with you, I listen, I observe, I evaluate your needs and the peculiarities that make you unique in the body and in the way of being. I propose solutions, alternatives and, if needed and there is no escape, I say NO!

Essere o non essere … Black or White ?!

Nero & Bianco: gli opposti perfetti e più estremi nel mondo dei colori.

Negli anni ‘20 dello scorso secolo, nell’ America del Nord, nacque un genere musicale che fondeva elementi europei ed africani, con sonorità che univano scale musicali temperate e suoni acuti e duri: il JAZZ.

Partì con l’essere circoscritta ai ghetti, considerata solo a livello folkloristico, per diventare in breve tempo un fenomeno di successo mondiale, influenzando lo stile di intrattenimento e la cultura di massa. Queste nuove sonorità avvicinavano e riunivano gli uomini bianchi e gli uomini neri sia sui palcoscenici che nelle platee, ovunque. Partendo dagli Stati Uniti, per arrivare fino in Europa, si impose con uno stile a cui neppure le potenti case di moda poterono sottrarsi. Tale stile riguardava certamente gli abiti ma, l’elemento che più di ogni altro si affermò come segno di distinzione furono, come sempre, le scarpe. Queste.

LE SPECTATOR

Sono un tipo di calzatura molto ricercato, che nel tempo ha subito varie modifiche. Si potrebbe erroneamente pensare che siano nate in contemporanea con il fenomeno del Jazz ma, in realtà furono da esso adottate. Unire il bianco ed il nero in un capo di abbigliamento, effettivamente a ben pensarci, non era cosa semplice e per di più, le scarpe così caratterizzate, enfatizzavano i movimenti del piede, perfette per ballare come dimostrò Fred Astaire che proprio ballando, le portò in vetta.

Ma torniamo alle loro origini, reali. La paternità è attribuita al celebre calzolaio londinese John Lobb

( 1829 -1895 ) che nel 1868 fabbricò il primo paio di bicolori per il gioco del cricket. Con una particolare attenzione al comfort, a volte la tomaia era traforata per consentire una corretta ventilazione del piede durante i periodi più caldi.

La bicolore ebbe particolare successo in un periodo in cui le classi sociali più benestanti dedicavano sempre più tempo allo svago, prediligendo uno stile si informale ma, allo stesso tempo, distintivo.

A garantire loro però fama intramontabile fu, però, il ben noto Duca di Windsor, vero esperto nel lancio di nuove mode, indossandole durante una partita di golf.

Negli anni ‘20 e ‘30 del ‘900 divennero un accessorio poco impegnativo da accompagnare con un completo da giorno. Ebbe un buon successo anche la versione femminile, con una linea che si adattava perfettamente ai gusti dell’epoca.

Abbastanza recentemente anche Chanel ha riproposto questo stile, reinterpretandolo meravigliosamente

Ci possono essere anche varianti modello monkstrap, per me assolutamente meravigliose…

Ad oggi la Spectator bianca/nera risveglia una sensazione di nostalgia per i tempi passati conferendo, a chi le indossa, un aspetto originale adattandosi a vestiti e pantaloni di tutti i colori ad esclusione del marrone. Se però si desidera mantenere lo stile originale la scarpa deve essere abbinata ad un vestito bianco o, in alternativa, ad una giacca bianca e pantaloni neri.

Il colore base della scarpa devere restare il nero; il bianco viene maggiormente usato per le parti applicate alla mascherina ed ai gambetti.

E si conclude questo nuovo, breve, viaggio nel tempo e nella storia delle calzature. Per voi appassionati, che anche oggi mi avete seguito fin qui, propongo infine un piccolo omaggio nostalgico ad un altro enorme ballerino che fece, svariate decine di anni più tardi, del bianco e del nero associati, il suo tratto distintivo …
